Reinventing potato

On July 25, 2015, 49 scientists from 15 public and private institutions met in Madison, Wisconsin, to discuss strategies for breeding inbred potato.  We are interested in developing diploid recombinant inbred lines, inbred cultivated potato and introgression lines for genetics and breeding research.  We also discussed breeding inbred potato cultivars at the diploid and tetraploid levels.  This work is being funded in part by a USDA-AFRI grant.
